Not Too Big, Not Too Small: We'll Help You Create Lips that Are Just Right
When it comes to the ideal lip size, there is certainly a window of perfection. Lips that are too small fade away and go unnoticed. Lips that are too large can steal the show, overpowering the other facial features or looking fake or overdone. Dr. Singleton strives to achieve an ideal balance with each lip augmentation he performs. He crafts lips that are beautifully shaped, perfectly sized, and a pleasing complement to the other facial features. Surely, you’ve seen overfilled “duck lips”, the result of an overly enthusiastic filler treatment. Don’t worry, our lip augmentation results are very natural looking.
Lip Augmentation Using Dermal Fillers
Injectable fillers are one of the most popular options for lip augmentation. The treatment is quick and non-surgical, making it an ideal choice for patients who don’t want to miss work. Results are smooth with a natural look and feel.
The largest downside to using dermal fillers for lip augmentation is that the results are temporary.
Patients will need to come in every 4-6 months to receive another set of injections. We do our best to make this as easy as possible. The touchup process is quick, and Dr. Singleton always strives to ensure patients are seen promptly.
At Capital Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Singleton performs all injectable treatments himself. You’ll meet with him before the procedure to discuss your aesthetic goals. He is a skilled injector with specialized training in the products we use. We use Juvéderm® and Restylane® fillers, both containing hyaluronic acid, for our lip injections.
Common Questions About Using Lip Fillers for Lip Augmentation
We love answering patient questions. If you have questions about lip fillers, lip augmentation, the different types of lip fillers, and lip surgery, come in for a consultation or give us a call. We won’t pressure you into choosing treatment if it isn’t the right fit for you. We provide information about the lip enhancement procedures we offer, but the final decision is yours to make.
A lip filler, dermal filler, or lip injection is a substance injected into the lips to enhance their shape and/or size. Said substance can be composed of collagen or other materials. Many treatments today use hyaluronic acid lip injections.
Various types of lip injections are used to achieve different goals. For instance, the treatment for a patient requesting bigger lips injections won’t be exactly the same as the treatment for one who only seeks to have the shape of their lips altered.
Lip enhancement surgery is a slightly more invasive type of lip augmentation that inserts silicone strip implants into the lips via tiny lip incisions. Implants lead to more long-lasting results.
Many worry about needles piercing the delicate skin of their lips. While most patients wouldn’t describe lip injection treatments as comfortable, they find them very tolerable. The lip fillers we use often contain lidocaine for a more comfortable injection experience. The whole treatment takes just about 10 minutes.
Patients will see their results immediately after treatment, with lip implant before and after revealing vast improvements in the size and/or shape of the lips. Some swelling is common at first but should resolve in a few days.
Lip fillers are long-lasting. Our lip enhancement patients usually enjoy their results for 4-6 months per treatment.
Lip filler treatments cost between $400 and $2,000 on average. This value will ultimately depend on your specific goals and the intricacy of the treatment necessary to attain them.
Surgical Lip Augmentation
A more permanent option for lip augmentation can involve a surgical procedure to lift the lip into a higher, more full position. Using an incision that is hidden under the nose, a sub-nasal lip lift can enhance lip fullness and projection. This procedure can usually be done in the office with local anesthesia only and be performed with minimal downtime afterwards.
Post-procedure patients will likely have swelling in the surgical area and upper lip for approximately 1-2 weeks.
